Where to Buy Mountain Dew Glass Bottles

Yes. Mountain Dew is still made in a glass bottle, but it is a little harder to find these days. We ship the real-sugar glass bottle directly to your doorstep so you do not have to search any longer.
Is Mountain Dew still made in glass bottles?
It is. Pepsi brought real-sugar Dew back in 2009 and called it Throwback. By popular demand it stayed! It is harder to find as it is not produced at high volumes like the cans and plastic bottles.
Is the glass bottle named "Throwback" or "real sugar"?
Same bottle, two names. Throwback was the name on the label. Real Sugar is what it says now. Plastic Bottles and Canned Dew is sweetened with corn syrup. This glass bottle is sweetened with real sugar. Real connoisseurs can taste the difference!Â
Where did Mountain Dew come from?
Barney and Ally Hartman bottled soda in Knoxville. After work they wanted whiskey with something fizzy, and the mixer they liked was not sold in town. So they made one. Clear. Lemon-lime. Somebody at the plant said it was as good as mountain dew, which is what people called moonshine. The joke got the name.
They poured it into green bottles and took it to a bottlers' meeting in Gatlinburg in 1946. That first bottle was a lemon-lime. The citrus kick came out of Johnson City in 1960, when a bottler poured a caffeinated lemonade into the Mountain Dew bottle and called it new. Pepsi bought the brand in 1964 and sent that one across the country.
One bottle is a cold drink. Six of them is a cooler of its own. Or put one next to a glass Pepsi. Start on citrus soda if you want more of that shelf, or build the box on Build Your Pack. A 6-bottle box is $29.99. That is also where free shipping starts in the continental U.S.
